Today, the new daily crochet pattern Amigurumi Owl Free Crochet Pattern, I want to give you some information about this pattern;

ABBREVIATIONS
Approx = Approximately
Beg = Beginning
Ch = Chain(s)
Rep = Repeat
Rnd(s) = Round(s)
Sc = Single crochet
Sc2(3)tog = Draw up a loop in
each of next 2 (3) stitches. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook. Sl st = Slip stitch
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Yoh = Yarn over hook

MEASUREMENTS
Approx 12″ [30.5 cm] tall by 8″ [20.5 cm] wide.

GAUGE 8
sc and 8 rows = 4″ [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:

• Rnds are joined with a sl st to first sc.
• To join new color, work to last loops on hook of first color. Yoh with new color, draw through loops and proceed with new color.
• To begin working with the O’Go format, carefully cut plastic tie where the ends of the O’Go meet.
Pull tie to remove.
• Separate colors by gently pulling apart and cutting at the color transition. Each color is ready to use. For this pattern, colors can be easily separated by gently pulling apart and cutting at the color transition.

Head and Body
With A, beg using magic loop method, demonstrated here.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 10 sc in ring. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each st around. Join. 20 sts.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join. 30 sts.
4th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join.
5th rnd: Ch 1. *2 sc in next st. 1 sc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from * around. Join. 40 sts.
6th to 12th rnds: As 4th rnd.
13th rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from * around. Join. 30 sts.
14th rnd: As 4th rnd.
15th rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in next st. Rep from * around. Join. 20 sts.
Note: Before starting head, stuff Body with polyfill.

16th rnd: As 4th rnd. Break A. Join B.
17th rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each st around. Join. 40 sts.
18th to 23rd rnds: As 4th rnd.
24th rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from * around. Join. 30 sts.
25th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join. Fasten off. Do not seam closed.

INSTRUCTIONS

Eyes (make 2)
With A, beg using magic loop method.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 10 sc in ring. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each st around. Join. 20 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Beak
With C, ch 4.
1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch. Turn. 3 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. Sc3tog. Turn. 1 st.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Wings
With B, beg using magic loop method.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 4 sc in ring. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in next st. 1 sc in next st) twice. Join. 6 sts.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in next st. 1 sc in each of next 2 sts) twice. Join,. 8 sts.
4th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in first st. 1 sc in each of next 3 sts) twice. Join. 10 sts.
5th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in first st. 1 sc in each of next 4 sts) twice. Join. 12 sts.
6th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in first st. 1 sc in each of next 5 sts) twice. Join. 14 sts.
7th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in first st. 1 sc in each of next 6 sts) twice. Join. 16 sts.
8th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in first st. 1 sc in each of next 7 sts) twice. Join. 18 sts.
9th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join.
10th rnd: Ch 1. (Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 4 sts) 3 times. 15 sts. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Feet (make 2)
With C, beg using magic loop method.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 6 sc in ring. Join.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each st around. Join. 12 sts.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in next sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join. 18 sts.
4th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Fold each foot in half and stitch together. Define webbed “toes” by making stitches as illustrated in diagram below.

INSTRUCTIONS

FINISHING

Add safety eyes to centre of each Eye. Stitch Eyes to Head as shown in photo, noting that eyes should touch at the center.

Stitch on Beak, with Beak slightly overlapping eyes.

Stuff Head with polyfill. Sew top of Head shut with tapestry needle by pinching the top edges together.

FINISH
